What's Leven up to now?After the epic journey across the Atlantic in his Rowing boat 'Atlantic Wholff' Leven has taken some time out and has started the following activities:

Do you want to Row the Atlantic and have your own epic journey?Ocean Rowing Events, a subsidiary of Ocean Activities Ltd - Leven's new company, is organising two events for you to consider if you are serious about participating in one of the most extreme sports there is. 1:- A project currently known as 'La Mondial'. A 12 man rowing boat out for one purpose: To break the existing Atlantic Rowing Record from the Canaries to the West Indies standing at 35 days 8 hours and 30 minutes. There are only 4 places left on the boat and we push off in November 2007. There is a fixed fee for this Expedition but this is a fraction of the cost of launching your own campaign. There are options for events in 2008 and 2009 too. 2:- Ocean Rowing Events have decided to organise a race rowing from the Canaries to the West Indies: The NIMROD Atlantic Rowing Challenge. There is £20,000 of prize money up for grabs and a 'Wooden Spoon (oar!)' prize for the last boat across. Pre-launch party, outstanding support on and off the water, help with sponsorship and putting you campaign together. There is an entry fee for this race which depends on the number of crew but can be paid in installments if it hurts less! We have negotiated with several relevant companies discounts for our competitors which will help cover your fee. There is a sense of history in this race as it is the centenary year of Shackleton's NIMROD Expedition and this little race is being held in honour of the great heros of yesteryear. There is cup of solid sterling silver (The Shackleton NIMROD Cup) that the winners of this race with have their names engraved into and who knows, perhaps the record books too. Our safety and support is quite simply the best there is out there, nothing in the market place thus far will go so far to try and ensure your safety - this is as much for your friends and relatives sake as for yours! We have a yacht which follows the fleet over in a neutral position and a fast RIB to reach real emergencies. We also have experienced Doctors available at the end of a Satellite link and specialised medical kits.
